About Hornsey Pennell Productions
Theatre Makers
Us:
A humble theatre company making plays influenced by myth and folklore, bringing old stories to new audiences. Our productions are made by artists, they're affordable for audiences, and they attempt to bring imagination back into theatre, leaning beyond psychology and reason, into the lesser known areas of life.
Me:
I (Barnaby) founded the company last year, I'm an actor and playwright from South Devon, currently living in London. I write everyday, and I try to be as involved in the British theatre scene as possible. I do feel it (theatre) lacks something, as everyone who wants to contribute must, and hope my work can fill the space I feel is missing. My plays have a generous reception from audiences and critics. I'm going to keep writing - I'm just looking for some extra support along the way...
Them:
The actors I work with kindly give their time for free; we rehearse in our spare time, around our full time jobs, we try to put on as many plays as possible. We've done three to date, and are working on our fourth, Er.
Er.
Er is a modern telling of the Myth of Er, a story at the end of Plato's Republic. Two lovers recount the night they met from the afterlife as they choose what to be reborn as. It explores themes of re-carnation, destiny and Karma. With a touch of humour.
Er will be playing at Riverside Studios in Hammersmith in July, and The White Bear of Kennington in August.
What coffee means to us:
1 x cup = a nice brew for the team.
5 x cup = transport for 1 member for a week.
10 x cup = transport for 2 members for a week.
30 x cup = a free ticket to the show and shout out on social media.
50 x cup = 2 free tickets and a mention in the program.
100 x cup = well...we would have to decide on that when we come to it...
Thank you for all your support, it's greatly appreciated.
Barnaby.
