Love The House, Hate The Location?

Love The House, Hate The Location?

Oct 23, 2026

A gorgeous kitchen can make a homebuyer forget the commute. But house hunting means choosing a location, too, and those countertops cannot drive you to work.

The closet? Perfect.
The bathroom? Practically a spa.
The location? Already making excuses for it.

Before “but look at the HOUSE” becomes your entire buying strategy, consider three things:

  1. Can you live with the location?
Think traffic, noise, grocery runs, and the people and places you want nearby. Test the drive during your actual commute.

  2. What can you realistically change?
Paint and dated floors are different from a location that complicates your life. Price the improvements before assuming an ugly kitchen is an easy fix.

  3. Does it fit your actual routine?
Buy for your normal Tuesday, not the imaginary dinner parties where you suddenly enjoy hosting forty people.

Sometimes the prettier house makes sense. Sometimes the better location wins. Sometimes neither works, and you keep looking.

The goal is a home that fits your life, your budget, and your priorities.
