One Big Mess!

The popular banking app, One Finance has been offering some great bonuses and incentives for several months now. We've seen promotions like their signup bonus, "spend $20, get $20 within 24-48 business hours", their targeted setup bonus of "spend $1 on Apple/Google Pay, get $25 instantly," their targeted Walmart cashback bonus of "spend $20 using Walmart Pay and get $20 instantly".
There's also been quite a bit of confusion because most of these bonuses are targeted. Some users get them; some don't (everybody is offered the "spend $20, get $20 signup bonus" minimally. Adding to the confusion is the misleading and deceptive marketing tactics of some in Referral World. I've seen posts claiming, "spend $1, get $45 (or more) instantly!" I've seen posts where referrers are encouraging their signups to game the system by making purchases and then canceling them (this is why we can't have nice things).
Another thing I just learned today is concerning the referral caps. One Finance allows us 10 referrals total (up to $200 in referral bonuses). Once that limit is reached, One will not issue referral bonuses for successful signups, which is common for apps with referral caps. But unlike most apps, One Finance will not issue a signup bonus, either, if the person signing up used a link that reached the referral limit. Hat tip to RWN supporter Lynn C. for sharing this screenshot on social media this morning.
If you haven't signed up for One Finance and want to ensure you get your bonus, be sure to ask the person whose referral link you're about to use whether they've reached their 10-referral limit before using their link. And I personally recommend you steer clear of any posts claiming, "spend $1, get $45 instant" or similar false claims.

When Invoice Simple's $20 referral promotion briefly went viral in Referral World and quickly shut down, I was disappointed and reported how they appeared to be just another fly-by-nighter and dud. I had little faith in getting paid because there was no referral tracking, and in their initial email communication to me, they told me I didn't qualify for referral bonuses and needed to provide them with an excessive amount of business verification, etc. I pointed out to them that none of this was anywhere in their referral terms, at which point they conceded. They emailed me $140 in bonuses the next week.
A couple of days ago, Invoice Simple emailed asking me to confirm that I received the referral bonuses. In my reply, I told them I did and asked them if they'd check to see if I was owed any more referral bonuses. I didn't receive a reply from them, but I did receive two more $20 bonuses yesterday! I appreciated them doing this, especially since there was no referral tracking to reference, and they could've easily told me I'd already been compensated for everyone I referred.
If you received a similar email from Invoice Simple, asking them if you are owed any more referral bonuses may be worthwhile.

FB Group Hits Milestone, Holds $20 + $10 Giveaway!
Most times, I report the news from Referral World. This time, I've created it! My newest Facebook group, EASY PAYING REFERRAL APPS 🤑🤑🤑, reached 400 members today! The group was created on 7/30 after Facebook erroneously shut down the original, wildly popular group with the same name. Some people say the original group may have been the most popular group ever seen on Facebook (I kid! I kid!).

I have been promoting and reporting on a TESTING opportunity that hit Referral World last week, promising a waived $20 sign-up fee, $60 referral bonuses, and $15 monthly commissions. An opportunity that sounded almost too good to be true. Five days after signing up, there have been more questions than answers and several red flags that have me concerned this whole thing may be a scam. I've put together a featured post with updates and announcements from SmartDesktop AI, along with the resistance and dismissive I was met with when I asked questions in one of two popular Facebook SDAI group chats.

Happy (Belated) Birthday, RWN!
Can you believe I missed RWN's 2-year birthday? A few years into moderating referral groups - and signing up for and referring apps myself - I felt something important was missing. Of course, apps and bonuses were being referred, but there was so much more to Referral World than just app bonuses. There were changes to app promotions not being discussed. Fly-by-night apps were reneging on owed bonuses. There were scams and scammers. There was drama. There was NEWS to be shared! On 6/25/22, "Referral World News" was born. Smart Desktop AI Update - What's Needed to Get Paid on 8/10!

Smart Desktop is slated to make the first $60 referral payouts one week from today, 8/10. If you signed up, you'll want to log into your SDAI account and locate the "Update Geneaology & Payment Information" link towards the top of your dashboard (direct link here, but you'll need to be logged in first). This page contains a form you need to fill out which includes your referrer's Code (minimally), and their full name and email if you have it. You'll also fill out your banking information. Be sure to fill out only the US section if you reside in the US, and only the International section if you're outside the US.
Supplying this information is how you'll get paid each month for any referral bonuses and commissions you earn. Note that Smart Desk AI only pays once per month, so it's crucial that you get this information submitted ASAP. If they don't have this information by the time they process payments for 8/10, any owed bonuses will not be paid to you until September.
Please note that I still consider this app to be TESTING and until I see SDAI pay referrers, I can't be certain they will.

Oooh Paid out Thousands (Again) on 8/1!

Several folks in Referral World, myself included, were happy campers on 8/1 when Oooh paid out thousands of dollars to Ambassadors who had been active in their groups during July. I personally earned $130 despite not being very active (on top of the $20 signup bonus I received a few weeks earlier). Others who were more actively promoted their group and engaged, offered giveaways, etc., were paid $1K-$2K for their efforts!

If you've been reading my RWN issues or seeing my posts, you know that MoneyLion is one of my absolute favorite apps to refer. From 6/13 through 7/25, I received over $2,200 in referral bonuses (and $3,835 since I started referring). This past week, though, no new bonuses have posted to my account despite receiving eight separate emails informing me I received new $5, $10, and $50 bonuses. I contacted MoneyLion's support last night, who informed me that receiving the bonuses could take up to 14 days. This news was a surprise since it's always only taken 1-3 business days in the nearly two years I've referred MoneyLion. Based on the conversation, I feel that something happened this week that is causing the delay. I hope it's only temporary, but time will tell if the "up to 14-day" delay will become the new normal.
Rakuten's Targeted 10% Cashback Boost Signup Promo!

I discovered this morning that Rakuten changed the signup promotion for me and other targeted referrers. If you're referring Rakuten, you'll want to check which promotion you have. Some referrers still have the "$30 signup bonus, $30 referral bonus" promotion Rakuten's run for years. Other referrers - myself included - have a new "10% Cashback Boost for 7 days" signup bonus promotion new members can use to score up to $50 in additional cash back. This is a great opportunity for anybody planning on making multiple and/or large purchases. For instance, back-to-school shopping at Macy's through Rakuten will normally get you 3% cashback. With this new promotion, you'll get 13% cashback. And you can mix and match qualifying retailers.

Facebook Did us Dirty. Let's Show Them!

As I mentioned above, I admin several Facebook referral groups. Facebook shut down my most popular and active group, "EASY PAYING REFERRAL APPS 🤑🤑" which had over 20,000 members and last month alone, had nearly 5,000 new posts contributed by group members. Facebook cited a bogus post violation as the reason despite nothing being wrong with the post... it was promoting a legit app and only contained the relevant signup and referral bonus information. While unclear whether the post was falsely reported (which unfortunately happens in Referral World), Facebook permanently shut the group down with no option to appeal.
Not about to take it lying down, I created a new group: EASY PAYING REFERRAL APPS 🤑🤑🤑! The group has already reached over 300 members in just a few short days. If you're on Facebook, I hope you'll join the new group. Once the group reaches 400 (I suspect either today or tomorrow), I'll be holding the group's first cash giveaway!

Work Smarter, Not Harder!
"Work smarter, not harder" has been my mantra for some time now. I've realized just how much I've allowed my role in Referral World to become all-encompassing how I've been working smarter, sure, but also working so much harder than I should be. This all has been exacerbated by Facebook making admins', moderators', and members' lives even harder by shutting down groups on a whim, passing out bogus violations like they're Halloween candy, making manual post-approval mandatory with no means to turn off their bug-ridden "potential spam" feature, etc.
For these reasons, I removed myself as admin of 1/3 of the groups I've been helping run for the past 3-4 years. It's a decision I wish I didn't have to make, but I've been spread too thin for far too long, and stepping down allows me to build on the activity and success groups I still manage while also freeing up hours in my day to enjoy life outside of Referral World. Most of the referral groups from which I stepped down still have active admins and mods and are great groups, though I did pause one group where the owner has been MIA for three years, and I was the only active admin in the group for the past year.
