Some time ago I had a conversation with Sandra Bichl from Career Angels. Our conversation concerned the support for people who look actively to change their jobs. The topic was seemingly simple and immediately reminded me of the recruitment process or typical coaching, and here on the start I received information that we, as people, are on the FMHG market.
What is this???
Well, the first thing that came to my mind was FMCG, i.e. a comparison with Fast Moving Consumer Goods. And boom - it was a right hit. FMHG is nothing but Fast Moving Human Goods. As scary as that sounds now, it really is when you think about it. We, as people (I mean our role as an employee) are a commodity.
Yes!!!
We are the product that companies are fighting for! But, wait, wait. Are you sure companies are fighting for us? Or every time they fight for us? Do companies want us? Or maybe they just want to meet their needs by hiring a person who best fits the current needs of the company and we are not that person at all, even if we get through the recruitment process.
Speaking of this recruitment process, are people still doing it? Or maybe our fate as a job candidate is in the hands of a robot that only tells the recruiter whether it's worth talking to or meeting with us?
