Growing up in NYC’s Chinatown, Chinese food was Chinese food. There was no differentiation to me. I just liked to eat.
It wasn’t until I started attending Junior High School in midtown Manhattan that I then realized Chinese food outside of Chinatown was a little different.
Like General Tso and Sesame Chicken, Orange Chicken could never be found in the Chinese restaurants my parents often dined in.
To me I ignore the labels. If it taste good I just eat it.
