Many of you have requested that I create an iOS/Android app so that you can receive your alerts via push notifications instead of emails.
I'm happy to share that I've found a way to deliver push notifications without the need to develop a separate app or publish it to the App Store and Google Play Store.
The push notifications work seamlessly through your browser, offering the same convenience and immediacy as traditional app notifications. Just like normal push notifications, you don’t need to have the app open or even have the browser active - notifications will appear on your device automatically, ensuring you never miss a release.
Visit your profile page (https://www.vinylalert.eu/profile) from your mobile device to get started and begin receiving push notifications immediately.
For those of you with a technical interest, I have leveraged Web Push Notifications and the Push API https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Push_API.
Also, I released this feature back in September 2024, but have completely neglected sharing updates here - therefore the delay. I will try to be better at providing updates :)
