Hi, I’m Viktor. I’m 38 years old, Ukrainian, a husband, a father, and quite honestly, someone who never imagined that end up writing about war.

I wasn’t trained to be a writer. Before the invasion, I didn’t even consider it. But when your country is under attack, when your neighbors are being killed, when you don't recognize entire sections of your city anymore, you either speak, or you disappear.

So I started writing. First for myself, then for others.

Now, over 200 essays later, this has become something I never expected: a place where people around the world come to feel what Ukrainians are living through.

I don’t intend to offer answers, and I’m not here to give speeches. But I’ve witnessed things that changed me. And I believe sharing them is one way to stay human in a world that keeps trying to forget.

Russia isn’t just attacking a country: it’s attacking the idea that people should be free. And if you believe in that idea too, then please consider this space yours as much as it is mine.

This is my voice, my fight, and my way of not giving up.
