It's rare for me to have a child-free weekday, but I had one last Thursday. I did a load of adulting, then I decided to treat myself to some leisure time. For most of this year I have put all my earnings back into my business, or into a project for my house. But because I had a generous £20 given to me, here is the joy it brought:
£5.30 return bus fare to the city to buy...
£7.49 'Heartstopper volume 6' book by Alice Oseman (half price in TG Jones)... which I read in its entirety then...
£5.99 month of Netflix subscription... to watch the film of the final series, which I have wanted to do for ages. So satisfying!

I LOVE the universe of Heartstopper, which as well as making me a better LGBTQIA+ ally has some really wholesome teen emotional intelligence. I also admire the creative control the author and illustrator retained over her project, and that she told the story when she wanted to and allowed her art to develop as she did so, rather than waiting until it was perfect. These principles inspired me for Inka Dot's Pet Full Stop.
