It's classroom re-org season.

Sep 28, 2026

While it's not uncommon for some classroom shifting to take place in September no matter what board or district you are in, the TDSB experienced widespread reorganization last year. Unlike prior years, these changes affected the majority of students on some campuses. While some schools gained teachers and classrooms, many were left with larger class sizes. Even if the outcome was positive for your child's school, it's likely that affected students lost days or even weeks of instructional time while teachers sorted out new students, teaching configurations, curricular responsibilities, and even grade levels.

TDSB spokespeople have indicated publicly that the changes won't be as extensive this year. Unless parents and others in the school community organize and compare notes, we have no idea what is true.

Please take a moment to share any information about reorganization that your school principals have distributed to the community:

Thank you so much for caring about public education.
