Creating parent advocacy in the TDSB and province of Ontario!
Hello! I am the mom of two kids in the TDSB, one in high school, and the other in middle. For over a year, I have been trying to organize other TDSB parents around the need for more school funding.
Specifically, we need an overhaul of the provincial funding formula, as was recommended by the Auditor General of Ontario in a 2017 report!
I'm really happy you're interested in organizing around this issue. Ideally, I'd love to grow a network of parent leaders around the city, but this requires a lot of time. During budgeting season, I tend to organize full-time (please don't tell my PhD supervisor). While I love doing it, I unfortunately am not independently wealthy.
