đ What Bloggers Are Saying
Upgraded Points â Highlights the Amazon bonus but calls out the 1,000 bonus points cap as a quiet devaluation.
Thrifty Traveler â Says Bilt has âknee-cappedâ Rent Day perks since 2024. Once powerful, now limited.
Frequent Miler â Calls the Amazon bonus ânot compellingâ â even at 50% more, youâre only getting ~1.05¢ per point (vs. 0.7¢ base).
AwardWallet â Neutral, more informational than critical.
Community (Reddit, forums) â Harsh takes: âdogshit redemptions,â âpoints set on fire,â regret chasing Bilt status.
âď¸ My Take
Honestly? The Amazon bonus is trash đď¸.
Hereâs why:
Even at Platinumâs 50% boost, youâre only getting ~1.05¢ per point. Compare that to 2¢+ value you can get via Biltâs airline & hotel transfer partners.
The $5,000 cap means thereâs no outsized play here anyway.
This feels more like a convenience redemption than a true reward.
đ The real play is still saving points for transfer bonuses. Thatâs where Biltâs value lives. Rent credits and Amazon may feel tempting, but theyâre leaving a lot on the table.
đ Final Thoughts
I honestly thought Bilt was starting to make some good changes đ â and there are things Iâm excited to share in the future, especially around hotel status tie-ins (similar to what Chase did with transfer perks or Amex with Fine Hotels & Resorts).
But this monthâs Rent Day feels very lackluster. It doesnât show much appreciation for the folks whoâve been Bilt believers since the early days. Instead of offering outsized value, it feels like filler perks and weak redemption âbonuses.â
If youâre new to Bilt, Rent Day is still a nice perk. But for longtime members, itâs starting to feel like the program is coasting instead of delivering. I personally probably won't be engaged in Bilt Rent Day in the future anymore.
