The Gravity of Truth

The Gravity of Truth

There is a moment in every person’s life when truth stops whispering and begins to settle.
Not forcefully.
Not dramatically.
But with the quiet authority of something that has always been there — waiting for you to finally look at it without flinching.

Truth is not an intruder.
It is an anchor.

And when it arrives, it pulls your spirit back to centre — back to dignity, back to the coordinates you should never have had to question.

I was reminded this week that
confusion is not a virtue,
over-explaining is not loyalty,
and losing yourself is not love.

Not every closeness is covenant.
Not every kindness is clean.
And not every person who leans in
does so with truth in their hands.

But clarity is mercy.
Once truth stands still, it does the sorting for you — gently, without force.
It reveals the motives that never matched the words.
It exposes the choreography beneath the care.
It resets the atmosphere around your life.

The most sovereign part?
Truth requires no performance from you.
No defence.
No retaliation.
No pursuit.

It stands.
And in standing, it frees you.

Today I honour the gravity of truth —
the stabilising weight that brings a soul back into alignment
without ever raising its voice.
