Thursday’s Truth — 20 November 2025
✍️ Riaan M. Odendaal
There comes a moment in every journey of clarity
when explanation becomes unnecessary —
and even wasteful.
We spend years trying to clarify our intentions,
mend misunderstandings,
soften truth so that others can swallow it
without choking on their own discomfort.
But truth, unlike perception,
does not need public relations.
At some point, you realise
that those who truly want to understand you
don’t need essays…
and those who don’t
won’t be moved by one more sentence.
So the explaining stops.
And when it stops,
something shifts in the architecture around you:
people reveal themselves by how they respond
to your silence.
Some step closer
because your clarity makes their own voice stronger.
Others step back
because the influence they once held
no longer holds you.
But truth doesn’t punish.
It simply sorts.
Your task is not to argue your way into being seen.
Your task is to stand — calmly, sovereignly —
in the light that already revealed what needed revealing.
Today’s truth is simple:
when you stop explaining,
you start breathing again.
