There are sacrifices that make you whole —
and sacrifices that slowly erase you.
The world will cheer the second kind.
It will call them holy, loyal, noble.
It will tell you to keep giving,
even when there’s nothing left of you.
But here’s the truth:
losing yourself is not faithfulness.
Shrinking so someone else can feel larger
is not love.
Obedience that silences your soul
does not honour God.
You were not created to disappear.
You were created to live — fully, honestly,
with your own voice, your own faith,
your own quiet courage.
Everything in creation knows this instinct:
Even lilies know how to turn toward the light.
So must you.
Yes, the cost of choosing yourself is real.
But the cost of refusing is greater.
Because a life that kills your soul
is not a life at all.
