Hi! I’m Stefan Tanevski , the creator of The Econ Digest . I believe economics can be interesting and easy to understand, so I started The Econ Digest in 2025 as part of a New Year's Resolution to share and explain economic trends in a way that everyone understand. I’m currently working on my PhD in Economics and teach Finance , Economics , and Statistics at the University American College Skopje . I’m also part of the research team at Finance Think , where we focus on improving economic policies that affect people’s lives. My research covers many areas, including monetary policy , financial markets , labor economics , and remittances . I’m especially interested in how these big ideas shape life in the Western Balkans . In 2024, I was honoured to receive the award for the Best Research Paper in Macroeconomics for Young Economists from the National Bank of North Macedonia . It was a great moment in my career and reminded me why I enjoy breaking down complex ideas into something useful and meaningful. Amazing job on your first blog post! It’s clear you put a lot of effort into it. As someone with no finance background, I found the storytelling captivating, especially in the beginning and middle. My attention dipped a bit toward the end with the calculations, but I still understood the main point and found it interesting. For future posts, you might consider making it more compact, as attention spans these days tend to be quite short. Wishing you all the best—keep it up! 💪
