About Rod Grant — The Aussie Bush Bard
Writing songs, poems and stories about life in Australia.
Rod Grant has been writing and singing stories about Australia for over fifty years. He is a creative force; even turning his hand to large format murals, church restoration, writing and performing music, poetry, crafts, and more.
His poetry catalogue has so far been recorded and collated in five collections: Lest we Forget (ANZAC service and military commemoration), Yass Valley (the people and places of regional NSW), Growing up in Oz (Australian childhood), Modern Australiana (contemporary Australian life), and Life and Living (philosophical reflection on a life well observed).
Over the recent period of 2023-2026 many of Rod's poems and some of his original music compositions were recorded and produced by his son Paul in Batemans Bay, NSW. These recordings will be released throughout 2026 as time and resources permit. Several more collections remain unfinished in production, which may also be brought to light with the support of this community.
Your support helps preserve a lifetime of Australian poetry in Rod's own voice; and helps get the remaining albums across the line while there is still time to record them.
Rod lives with his wife Karen in the township of Yass, NSW, where he continues to write, paint, perform, and create for the benefit for the community.
