Über The Poetry Stroll
A Dublin literary walking tour, guided by song
Starting from Sweny’s Pharmacy, this walking tour explores Dublin's literary heritage through song, poetry and storytelling, bringing to life the writers and artists who once lived and worked around Merrion Square.
At the heart of the Poetry Stroll is James Joyce, one of Ireland’s most celebrated writers. As we wander the streets and visit the places that shaped his life, we trace his journey from aspiring young poet to becoming the author of Dubliners, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man and Ulysses.
His story is woven together with those of fellow writers and artists, including Oscar and Lady Jane Wilde, Æ George Russell and Susan L. Mitchell, revealing the rich creative world that once flourished around Merrion Square
