Kaufe Paula Blair einen Buch

Hello, I'm Paula and I'm a writer from Belfast based in Newcastle upon Tyne. I am currently working on a blended memoir titled Somewhere Between in which I work through challenging personal experiences through analysing specific art works and the stories they embody. This manuscript-in-progress emerged out of training and support I had from winning an Arts Council England Developing Your Creative Practice grant in 2022, and in 2024 it won a Northern Writers' Award, which I hope will be a huge help in getting it published.

Also in 2024 I participated in New Writing North's Inkubator programme where I gained training and experience in facilitating writing workshops. I have prior teaching experience from my time as an early-career arts and humanities academic, and I hope to find collaborative ways of joining with others in progressing our reading, writing and wider interests. I aim to develop a facilitation practice as my writing progresses.

From 2018 to 2022 I made Audiovisual Cultures Podcast, which is still fully available on a wide range of platforms and includes some excellent interviews and discussions with film-makers, writers, artists and researchers. I'd love for you to check it out.

There are samples of my work of all kinds on my YouTube channel and my writing over on Substack.

Finally, I'm from a working-class background and make a low income scrabbled from freelance work and two zero-hours jobs. I have no paid leave. Times are really tough, and if you'd like to show appreciation for my work and can spare anything, you've no idea how grateful I would be for one-off payments or ongoing regular support. I'm also open to offers of paid employment.

Thanks so much for reading and for visiting my page. If I can be of service to you, please get in touch!
