Hi everyone!
Thanks for supporting us by coming here to keep the wonderful Paddington Then and Now experience alive and well!
We are Kerry Forsythe and Caylie Jeffery, Paddington Residents for many decades. We are close friends, colleagues and enthusiastic storytellers, who earn a living as oral historians, interviewing people and recording their stories for legacy projects.
We both have teenaged children, and long-suffering, but ever-supportive husbands, and we want nothing more than to spend time with loved ones, and to work hard doing what we love - making a positive difference to our community.
As many of you know, we have been volunteering in the Brisbane community for many years - writing stories, managing community projects (Paddington Halloween and Under the Lino, for example), interviewing elders, sharing local history tales, taking photographs, filming events, and mentoring others who are keen to write their memoirs.
We love managing the wonderful online history group, sharing photographs, documents and written accounts, after we complete the research, interviews, and editing. We love being engaged with our local community, and encouraging others to contribute!
Our future plan is to finish the Paddington Then and Now website, so we can use it as an archive for all of the photographs and stories we are compiling; we also want to make a coffee table book with the old and new photographs; and we want to compile a beautiful book of stories by the community… those of you who have offered so much to the Paddington Then and Now phenomenon.
Supporting us financially on this page will help those things to happen, and keep our husbands off our case!
We would be delighted if you’d be able to help us out, even if it’s just a little… you can give small one-off donations (buy us a coffee by clicking on the ❤️ that says ‘support’) or become monthly members, with regular payments (by clicking on the membership 🔒).
We hope the joy you receive by the work that we do gives you great satisfaction in your investment, and welcome your constructive feedback, photographs and stories to share!
Yours in history,
Kerry and Caylie
