At heart, it's a battle between the best and the worst of us. Check out your hands. Why are they our most wonderful tools? Entirely because essentially individual fingers work together in equally essential harmony. Thus - and only thus - can they make beauty, build, write, caress. MAGA, representing global feelings of abandonment and despair, is the inevitable outcome of 'selfie' societies based in slash-and-burn consumerism, corrosive mistrust, elite isolationism. 

THE MEGA TRUMPS MAGA CHALLENGE

MEGA, the Make Earth Green Again revolution, challenges us to dare to trust our better selves, to weave a filigree of tenderness cradling Earth and all her peoples, to rediscover our true humanity, generous, inclusive, loving. For, exactly as our fingers/hands, we humans are also essentially individual/communal. Essentially - of our very essence. Our current tragedy is that we've forgotten this exquisite, life-giving reality. It's that essential balance that MEGA sets out to remember. And, vitally, to recover. 

BUT WHERE IS THE MOVEMENT?

However, unlike MAGA, prime representative of a worldwide phenomenon of fear and rejection, there is no cohesive movement to celebrate it, nothing to unite our better selves in global generosity, non-violence and inclusion. Hence our challenge: Unite! Believe in beauty, in the best of us. Believe that MEGA trumps(!) MAGA. Join us.

It's the last, greatest, revolution. In this, our one, exquisite, exquisitely fragile, home, the only way of healing - indeed of saving recognizable life - on Earth, is to celebrate our own essential INTERdependence. INTERdependence with family, with colleagues, with community. And, embracing all, the interdependence of all peoples and all wisdoms. In a word, to become our true selves.

Despite everything, 90% food sovereignty; 75% renewable energy; 50% women in power; 31% territory owned by indigenous peoples; cooperatives, and much more.

c. A Peoples Declaration of INTER-Dependence. Call on the UN to establish World INTER-Dependence Day/Week. Communities small and large, secular and of faith, businesses, councils, towns & cities, countries, individuals and families, all commit to implementing the Declaration. Above all in its requirement that global disarmament commence at once with the re-dedication of 5% of all current monies, materiel and personnel to re-greening Earth and ensuring pure water to every person.  A cartoon video seeking to assuage children’s widespread/increasing anguish at the climate crisis, through inspiring adventures, linking them to positive eco-projects.

4. ‘Song in High Summer’ Sequel. 

SIHS was primarily Paul’s firsthand account of living with Salvadorans under death squad attack, even in Los Angeles. But the eco-minstrel’s road that led him to their side began decades earlier when, as a silent Trappist monk, he cobbled his guitar together from scraps found on the monastic garbage pile, and realized for the first time that even monks were throwing away the planet.

While updating the Salvadorans' extraordinary story, the sequel will re-tell those exciting beginnings and develop more fully the passionate adventures that have led to the formation of the MEGA! Revolution as antidote to MAGA’s death spiral.

VICTOR JARA'S BEST-LOVED SONGS IN ENGLISH! Hands crushed, tortured by Russian roulette, machine-gunned 50 years ago, but Víctor Jara still lives! Heath, Thatcher, Nixon, Pinochet, all are gone, Kissinger is a corpse, walking. But Víctor still fills people the world over with hope, beauty & courage. Please support two 50th anniversary commemorative albums of his best-loved songs, including, 'Te recuerdo Amanda', 'Plegaria a un Labrador', even 'Ni chicha ni limonada!'  The one album interpreted both in Víctor's original Spanish and also in singing English. The second, sung wholly in English. There many translations of Víctor's songs, deservedly so, his courage, hope and commitment were never more necessary. But these two albums are the only examples of his songs actually sung in English. Our hope is to add to the untiring work of Joan Jara, daughters Manuela and Amanda, and the whole Victor Jara Foundation in sharing his music and message.
