What’s my story?

What’s my story?

Jun 26, 2024

Someone recently asked me what got me into storytelling. It's always been a hard question for me to answer because I've lived a life fluent in stories. My dad and grandfather were the greatest storytellers I knew. They had a gift for captivating rooms, connecting with folks through humor, realism, and a touch of the ridiculous. Their tales, full of common sense and wisdom, always left a lasting impression.

I’m starting this page to gain support to fuel my next set of creative projects. Recently, I was laid off from my full-time job. While it's tempting to spin this into a story of despair given the challenging job market (and trust me, my anxiety has done so many times), this page is my attempt to write a different story. It's a reminder that having a creative outlet can fuel us through the most challenging transitions.

Creatives are among us all—they are our friends, family members, coworkers, and teammates. They scribble in notebooks between meetings and plan late at night when their imagination won't let them sleep. They want to be in multiple places at once because their passion to create extends beyond the boundaries of a day job.

I look forward to landing a meaningful role where I can use my gifts to make a positive impact on others. In the meantime, I aim to connect with those who understand the importance of having a creative outlet that fuels you. Thank you for being part of my journey!

With gratitude,

Diana
