Rochester to Reculver 3

Rochester to Reculver 3

Jun 28, 2024

Finally I arrive about 9.30pm at Reculver on the North Kent shore, just time to see the roman remains, take 40 pics and muscle into King Ethelbert's inn (1834, I asked the barmaid) for last orders, a warm pint of Take Courage Best Bitter and my 3rd 🐷 scratchings, very soothing! I stayed on til 10.30pm watching the lught fade into night with towers lit up and an uncanny feeling of 2 millenia pressing in on my bones!! Truly my greatest most epic Kent tour, twelve hours, I then headed appropriately back to the roman Portus Lympnus from Canterbury via the roman road Stone Street whereupon I met, typical in Kent, no traffic at all! Many steps attempted and gained at Rochester, many pints attempted and quaffed along the way -- see my North Kent pub analysis album, part of this set of four!!

You won't want a day trip with me, ever, best leave me to it! Without breaking into a sweat I accomplished more than mortals do, for truly St Lady Feckinghull is immortal and her beer intake transcends unto the nectar of the gods 🍺🍺 which is why I ask you to support my healthy outdoor habit below, support St LFH, the selfless tireless rackerup of pub reviews by buying me a beer! And enjoy notifications on all my subsequent fests 😚💋 I hugely appreciate your input, chin chin!

Hope you enjoy! The day exhausted me but I felt jubilant climbing Rochester castle without breaking into a sweat (I never ever do) and the mysticism of Reculver was without parallel and will be my starting point for a second epic journey!! Fenks 😇🍺🐷⭐
