Recovering the vibrant culture of Christianity of the Middle East—chronicles, scientific treatises, medical compendia, philosophical works, biblical translations, biblical commentaries, accounts of religious disputations and theological reflections—is vital and it reveals Christianity’s deep, ancient and continuous roots in the region. Up to 90% of this heritage remains unpublished, available only in manuscripts.

I am setting up this page to provide online guidance on reading manuscripts and to raise funds for my research.

I am an independent researcher with a PhD in Near Eastern Studies from Princeton University. I am affiliated with the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies of the University of Cambridge and Westminster College, Cambridge. I also teach Arabic: Christian Arabic at Westminster College, Cambridge, and Classical and Christian Arabic privately.
