Ibotta's Increased $10 Referral Bonuses!

If you refer Ibotta - the receipt-scanning/coupon cash back app - you'll want to check your app since Ibotta increased the referral bonuses from $7 to $10. The signup bonus is still $5. If you still see the $7 referral bonus in your app, exit out of the app and go back in. This is the highest I've seen Ibotta's referral bonuses in a few years; Ibotta previously increased its referral bonuses in April 2024 from $5 to $7.

Upgrade Suspends Referral Program!

Upgrade recently ran a bonus promotion that ended on 1/6. They seem to have ended their referral program, at least for now.
In its heyday, Upgrade was a big earner for me with its easy "make three debit card purchases of any amount" requirement to trigger the $50/$100 bonuses. In mid-2023, Upgrade changed the promotions and required $1,000 in direct deposits, an obstacle for many in Referral World.
Fingers crossed that Upgrade is taking a break and will return with a new promo soon. If you are still referring Upgrade and/or have it included in any lists you may be sharing, you'll want to pivot to referring other bonuses such as MoneyLion's $10 no-deposit, no-spend signup bonuses (ends 1/19), Future's $5-$20 signup bonus ($15 referrals), BECU's $100 bonus promotion, and more which you can find in my featured list here.

MoneyLion was my top-earning app in 2024 and it's off to a roaring start in 2025! I've earned $1,785 since 1/1 and nearly $13K to date! TopCashback, a popular cashback portal, is running a limited-time $35 referral promotion. There's no signup bonus for this one, but for each person you refer who earns $10+ cashback, you'll earn a $35 referral bonus. This promotion ends 1/27/25. More info here.

Acorns' "Refer 4, Get $1,125" Promotion!

Acorns just started a great new promotion: $5 signup bonus when you sign up for Acorns and invest $5 by 1/18. $5 referral bonuses as well, and if you refer four people by 1/18 who complete these same steps, you'll earn another $1,100 ($1,125 in total)!
Note that Acorns charges a monthly $3 fee after your first 30 days. You can cancel Acorns as soon as you withdraw your bonuses, though I recommend keeping it as they frequently offer generous referral bonuses. To date, I've earned over $3,000 from these promotions!
Important note: Ensure you complete all the steps when you sign up. Each week, I'll get at least one person who signs up but doesn't invest the $5 to trigger the signup and referral bonuses. I'm not sure why because it's a straightforward, simple process. The key things to remember: Sign up, verify your identity, invest $5, and leave it in until you receive your bonus from Acorns. Also, note that Acorns has a $3 monthly subscription charged after the first 30 days. More info here.
