For the very first time since we began our work here, we witnessed a nocturnal visit from a tamandua (anteater) wandering through Brisa da Mata. While they’ve almost certainly passed through before under the cover of darkness, actually spotting one on our land is an incredible moment for us.
Tamanduas are vital to the Atlantic Forest ecosystem, helping control insect populations and keeping the forest floor in balance. Seeing native wildlife active right here on the property is a direct sign that our protection and reforestation efforts are working—creating a safe, thriving habitat where these creatures can roam.
Moments like this remind us exactly why we are turning Brisa da Mata into a protected RPPN reserve. Every tree planted and every acre preserved gives species like the tamandua a home for generations to come.
