About Glocal Worm-ing
Multispecies Community

In response to the global call for the care of soils, Glocal Worm-ing investigates, through design, ways to nurture mutual human-soil relations together with earthworms and active
citizen-participation in order to enhance multispecies co-existences in cities.
Istanbul-born Merve is an eco-social designer-artist based in Bolzano. She graduated with a master's degree in Eco-Social Design at the Free University of Bolzano with her thesis research project Glocal Worm-ing. She explores the reciprocal interspecies (humans and non-humans) relationality through design/art, to create new alternatives at a time when the world faces crises and uncertainty.
Currently, her project Glocal Worm-ing is exhibited at the Museum of Nature South Tyrol as part of Bolzano Art Weeks 2022.
