A Fresh Coat of Paint (and a Few New Things on the Shelf)

If you've stopped by fiddleback.me lately, you may have noticed it looked like a house where someone moved out of half the rooms and never told the furniture. I spent the day fixing that. Every page got a going-over, and the site finally reflects what I'm actually doing these days, which is making games.

The front door. The home page is simpler now. If you're here for the Tales from the Yawning Portal reviews or for Transit, which is to say if you're most people, there's a "Start Here" section that takes you straight to either one. The blog list underneath now shows the ten most recent posts instead of everything since 2017.

Podcasts, retired. After a good many years and a good many shows, I've hung up the microphone. Notes From the Long Table has wrapped, GM Word of the Week had its 300+ episode run, and the whole archive is still up on the Podcasts page, tidied and sorted, all the way back to the Archive.org years. The About page has been rewritten to match.

Transit, connected. The Transit page, the Advanced Programming supplement, and the Dahvil Delivery starter adventure now all link to each other, each with a direct link to buy it on DriveThruRPG, plus the free Appendix A sheets, the errata, and the Discord. You should never be more than one click from anything Transit.

Reckoning. This one's brand new. Reckoning is a diceless, cardless roleplaying game where you don't roll to succeed. You pay. Every bit of certainty you spend goes into a pile in the middle of the table, and that pile is the only ammunition the world has against you. It plays like a heist that's already gone right and is now quietly unravelling. It's free, it's twenty pages, and all you need is a bowl of beans.

The Mask of Ordo. My old 2013 Star Wars: Age of Rebellion one-shot, rebuilt from the ground up so most groups can run it straight off the page. Rebel recruits, a hidden Imperial base, a Star Destroyer on the way, and some Mandalorians who want something back. Free.

Dominoes for a Sunday Afternoon. A free little library for anyone with a double-six set in a drawer: a 75-game rulebook, a printable scoresheet, a supplement for bigger sets, and Domino Zilch, a push-your-luck game of my own.

Centerstage. A bit of a left turn: a small tiling window manager for Linux that you can drive with the mouse. One window big in the middle, the rest along the sides, click to swap. Experimental, offered as-is, and free for anyone who likes that sort of thing.

And War Hogs? Still on the workbench. The pigs are patient.

None of this costs anything, and that's possible because of you. Every coffee helps keep the lights on and the tokens in the bowl. Thank you, truly.
