It's February and although this month is typically used to declare your love to someone else, I invite you to show yourself some love this month. All of our small choices add up and I hope you will take some time this month to make a few small changes to better your mental, emotional and physical health. If you need some inspiration, I'm currently enjoying the new book "And Then We Rise: A Guide to Loving and Taking Care of Self" by Common. February Yoga with BreOutside

What's the difference between Yin and Restorative yoga?
Yin yoga targets deep connective tissue and can help stimulate the fluid that lubricates your joints. It incorporates the use of Chinese medicine via acupressure to unlock blocked energy throughout the body.
I recently heard another yoga teacher refer to Restorative Yoga as "an organized nap" and that is a kind of fun way to describe it. Restorative yoga uses props to take more physical stress off the pose. It's less intense than Yin yoga and in my classes we focus resting the body and the mind.
Black History Month
February is also black history month and I appreciate you supporting my black-owned business. I know many of you who receive this email are readers, so I invite you to read books by black authors this month (including "And Then We Rise").
