I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
At our house, we celebrated Christmas the North American way with a big roasted turkey, and for New Yearâsâtotally non-traditional but very Japaneseâwe had a sushi party! đŁ
January 1st is always reserved for college football at our place, so âI donât want to cookâ is my very convenient excuse every year. đ
Iâm honestly so excited to see what this year will bring.
I havenât set any big New Yearâs resolutions, but I do want to put a bit more energy into knitting this year.
To be honest, 2025 was a busy one. Caring for my husband took a lot of time, and my hand eczema was so bad that I just didnât feel like knitting much. On top of that, Iâve been trying hard to use up the yarn I already ownâwhich, ironically, lowered my creative motivation more than I expected.
Lately, though, Iâve been thinking that this year Iâll alternate between leftover-yarn projects and projects I truly want to knit, instead of choosing just one or the other. That feels like a good balance for where I am right now.
Thank you for being here, and I look forward to another year with you all.
Hereâs to a happy and gentle New Year! đ§¶âš
