Happy New Year! 🎉

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

At our house, we celebrated Christmas the North American way with a big roasted turkey, and for New Year’s—totally non-traditional but very Japanese—we had a sushi party! 🍣
January 1st is always reserved for college football at our place, so “I don’t want to cook” is my very convenient excuse every year. 😄

I’m honestly so excited to see what this year will bring.
I haven’t set any big New Year’s resolutions, but I do want to put a bit more energy into knitting this year.

To be honest, 2025 was a busy one. Caring for my husband took a lot of time, and my hand eczema was so bad that I just didn’t feel like knitting much. On top of that, I’ve been trying hard to use up the yarn I already own—which, ironically, lowered my creative motivation more than I expected.

Lately, though, I’ve been thinking that this year I’ll alternate between leftover-yarn projects and projects I truly want to knit, instead of choosing just one or the other. That feels like a good balance for where I am right now.

Thank you for being here, and I look forward to another year with you all.
Here’s to a happy and gentle New Year! 🧶✨
