March 4th poem: Her Zest

Her Zest

Her list of accomplishments was long, long, long.

Her work, her love, her song . . . now gone.

The measure of one life lived,

the purpose of what each gives.

Was it fate that gifted her with it all?

Her zest left the rest of us to fall -

ow behind her tremendous lead;

left us planting the seed

of inspiration she gave,

with one small wave,

that provided our moral scope

and allowed us some small hope,

that life will go on and on and on

even now, that she is so, so, long gone.
