If you've followed my weather updates on social media over the last 15+ years, you know how deep I like to dive into meteorological data.

While my older project, Antimeteo, provided traditional icon-based daily forecast, my passion and heavy lifting are now focused on a new platform: VisualWeather.eu.

What is VisualWeather? It isn't a standard weather app, and it's not trying to replace giants like Windy. Instead, it is the exact custom workbench I use to interrogate forecast data, now opened up to you. It’s built specifically for a narrow audience of weather enthusiasts and professionals who want to look under the hood and add real analytical value to their workflow.

Right now, the platform runs a custom WRF model for Greece at a 3km resolution, pushed even further with a downscaling process that delivers temperature and snowfall data at a massive 500m resolution. When severe or unusual weather strikes, I can rapidly adapt the site to provide highly targeted tools for that specific event. The platform is evolving fast: more than 110 updates shipped in its first three months, every one documented in the release notes on the site.

Build on the ICON-EU integration that is already live on the site, with the 40-member ensembles next, surfaced in a way that truly maximizes their interpretive value.
