Some nights, the world feels impossibly wide and cold. I never thought I’d be reaching out from a place like this, but here I am—unsheltered, moving between borrowed spaces, public benches, and the rare quiet corner where I can rest for a few hours. Every morning, I wake up determined to keep going, even when the odds feel stacked against me.
Right now, I’m actively interviewing with USAA, Geico, and Target. I’m juggling assessments and training requirements, often from parking lots or coffee shops with spotty Wi-Fi. The irony isn’t lost on me: I’m advocating for others while struggling to meet my own basic needs.
There’s a particular vulnerability in preparing for a job interview when you haven’t had a safe place to sleep or a private spot to get ready. I’ve learned to improvise—washing up in public restrooms, changing clothes in my car, and using borrowed internet to submit applications. It’s humbling, sometimes humiliating, but I refuse to let these circumstances define my future.
Your support has been my anchor. Because of you, I’ve been able to keep my phone on, stay connected with employers, and continue my advocacy work—even if it’s from a library corner or a friend’s porch. That hope is what gets me through the hardest moments.
Right now, I need urgent help to get through this next stretch. Here’s what would make the biggest difference:
Emergency shelter or hotel accommodation, even for a few nights
A safe, quiet place to focus on job applications and interviews
Basic hygiene necessities—clean clothes, toiletries, a hot shower
Reliable internet access
Food and transportation to get to interviews
If you’re able, please consider supporting me through Buy Me a Coffee. Every act of support—donation, share, or kind word—directly impacts my ability to find safe shelter and keep moving toward stability.
Thank you for being part of my journey. Your support is a lifeline, and I’m deeply grateful.
