I've been working on something big, the largest project I have ever worked on in my life: Stellicast. Stellicast is a next generation open source work-in-progress video sharing platform designed to compete with YouTube without bombarding you with unskippable ads, using AI moderation to ban users, or ignoring community feedback. Stellicast will require channels to disclose any usage of generative AI in their videos and will separate smaller creators from business-oriented studios, promoting Creator content without AI over Studio content or AI by default, but allowing users to change this preference with one click.
With a modern design, fewer ads, and better pay to channels compared to YouTube, Stellicast aims to appeal to everyone for simply providing a better experience both to viewers and creators. However, it should be noted that this project is in early development, and does not support ads or paying channels yet. Because of this, Stellicast is operating at a loss, having spent $21 so far and earned nothing in return. In the meantime, I would be greatly appreciative if anyone could donate if you like what you see so far, to help support further development and prevent this project from becoming abandonware. Even a $5 donation would cover about a quarter of all expenses so far.
