Why do you review and update them each year?
Each summer, I work through the latest publicly available exam papers, mark schemes and examiner reports for all three exam boards.
Sometimes these contain questions on areas that have not been examined heavily before, or provide useful additional insight into exactly how particular marking points are awarded. A-level Biology mark schemes can feel like a game of whack-a-mole sometimes, so whenever the official materials give me a clearer idea of how to express a point precisely, I make sure that insight is reflected in my notes.
I also continue to learn through another year of tutoring and working with exam questions. Sometimes I decide that an explanation could be clearer, a diagram could work better, the scientific wording needs to be more precise, or some unnecessary detail could be removed. I care enormously about the usefulness of these notes, and I intend to keep refining them rather than ever considering them completely “finished”.
I have already bought your notes – can I get the updates for free?
When you purchase my notes, you are entitled to request any update that I release in the following August. This is intended to cover you for the normal duration of your A-level course and does not extend to an additional resit year.
For this year’s update, the cutoff is the date on which I released the previous editions: 22 August 2025.
This means, for example:
If you purchased my notes in November 2025, you can request this update, because August 2026 is the next August after your purchase.
If you purchased my notes in May 2025, you cannot request this update, because August 2025 was the next August after your purchase.
If you purchased on or after 22 August 2025, you can request the updated versions of the paid files you bought.
The update only applies to the exam board, complete set or individual topics included in your original purchase.
How do I request my updated files?

In your email, please include:
The email address used to make the purchase
Your exam board
Whether you bought the complete set or individual topics
The approximate purchase date, if you know it
It is easiest if you email me from the address used to make the purchase. If you are contacting me from a different address, please provide the purchasing email address or forward your original confirmation email.
I can only supply an update where I can verify both an eligible purchase and the files included in that purchase. Please do not request the update if your purchase was made before the cutoff date.
Please also be patient while waiting for a reply. I may have a lot of requests to work through, and I have another job alongside ZH Tutorials, so it may take me a few days. Remember to check your junk folder in case my response ends up there.
You do not need to contact me about the updated free topics. You can simply download the latest versions from my website or Buy Me a Coffee shop!
