Naming organic compounds using the IUPAC rules can be really difficult to get your head around. This digital PDF resource takes you through naming compounds step by step and includes worked examples of varying complexity.
Please note that this resource is aimed at Year 12 OCR A A-level chemistry students and therefore uses alkanes, alkenes, alcohols, haloalkanes, nitriles, ketones, aldehydes, carboxylic acids, and combinations of those. Naming of compounds primarily covered in Year 13 (e.g. amines, esters, aromatic compounds) is not included.
This is a digital download (PDF).
