Update #10

Apr 16, 2024

Hello again,

another month over, some new developments to show.

First, regarding the Trailer Emperor. The astral rift and his recruitment are more or less done, but that alone would be underwhelming for a release. There is more planned to happen after recruiting him, but work on this is going slow at the moment, sorry for that.

For the time being, there is another way to get a leader with this portrait. For those, who have checked the patch notes, this shouldn't be news, but I've added the Neochadamus sequel (formerly modjam contribution) to MEM and made a few adjustmends as I can now use all the assets available in our mod. So he will now be able to take on his original appearence (the masked version) as well as the emperor look.

Secondly, the E.D.E.N. Protocol origin, Tree and me have been working on, has been released as a feature complete testversion on steam ( https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3161229014 ) and could need some more feedback before we plan on adding it to MEM eventually.

So, now lets get to some more eye candy.

Since the addition of the orila portraits (little gray aliens) I've played a few games with them, given that they are my favorite portrait - yes, I'm biased here - but that also made it painfully obvious to me that they lack a fitting robot portrait to go with their style for either workforce or synthetic ascension.

To remedy this shortcoming I'm having one created by derega as well - this one is going on my cap not using any donations.

It uses the same base form as the orila armor, which is based on this little toy here:

Which became this:

And for the robot it will similarly take that general shape, keeping the smooth and rounded look.

For leader roles, the chassis will get different simplistic line markings. Here the mockup for the scientist for example:

There will be two versions. One with only these robot chassis and a second one that uses hologram orila portraits for leaders.

For the Broken Clock alien there have also been a few developments. Originally I wanted derega to reuse a modified version of his old sketch he made as an option for possible Vazuran looks.

The idea is for the alien to be a walking drop pod.

However, derega felt that design to be too close to the Vazuran portrait, we already have, so he made a new sketch, which became a floating tentacle monster, which keeps the shell exoskeleton and segmented head, but now with a calamari-like beak inside.

More on this as work progresses. See you next time!
