We live in an era that is more disconnected than the one I was in when I graduated college the first time.
AI spills through everything that we read, watch, do or say. There are hundreds upon hundreds of books out there from occupational improvement to business savviness.
Though as a student, how do you use AI ethically and properly?
You want AI to make your life easier from the repetition from work to education, but you also want your work to be your own.
It has become a common issue at work and at home. There is a push and pull between companies and academia wanting to embrace AI and becoming horrified by it.
I just completed C962 Emerging Technology, and much of the topics touched I had already agreed with.
I believe that AI should be used as a tool to augment our lives and automate those things that people do not want to do anyway.
There must be a balance. Companies should not try to push Ai in hopes that Ai can replace humans because no matter how much money is infused into Ai, humans still have fundamental skills that are necessary. They complement Ai from their wisdom, common sense, and empathy.
Academically, AI can be used to:
improve researching habits - trust but verify all results found
organize your thoughts - You made an outline, but you want to make sure that what you are saying makes sense and follows the rubric
How close are you to competent on that paper you wrote? - AI can show strengths and weaknesses
Study Assistant - infuse some data and get help understanding the topics
The purpose of working with AI is to get a direction on how to improve yourself. The AI is being used as a tool to harness research and improve your weaknesses while not fixing it.
