Happy New Year Everyone!
Sorry it’s been a while since my last post it’s been so busy lately. Anyone who follows me on YouTube will know I have still been out and about lots since my last post on here. I kick started this year with another sunrise hike in the Lake District, this time up to the summit of Skiddaw. Due to the stormy weather on January 1st the hike was delayed till January 2nd, but it was worth it!
It was a rather eventful start to the walk when we struggled a little to get my Fiat 500 up the icy road to the car park. In fact it was very much touch and go there for a second as my friends had to get out and give the car a little push up 😅
But once we got walking things were looking up. It was absolutely freezing so we layered up and set off towards the summit. Dawn hit at about 7 in the morning when we were maybe 3/4 of the way up. I always love the look of the morning sky.
Shortly after that the pink sky appeared and soon we were stood watching another stunning sunrise. There is definitely something nice about watching a fire skyline against the snow and ice. It was beautiful.
And it was certainly hard work taken photos in the freezing condo at the summit. I think the wind chill was about negative 8!
We quickly tapped the frozen trig and began making our way back down the mountain again.
It was a stunning morning. Hopefully also my way of kick starting the year as I mean to go on. Happy New Year everyone, have a good one.
