Overthinking felt like a strength at one point.

Like most people, I thought that thinking more was associated with Better Decisions.

I taught myself:

Should I go back over every Conversation, I will prevent saying the wrong thing the next time.

If I picture every conceivable result, I will be ready for anything.

Analyzing every decision from every Perspective helps me to avoid Mistakes.

Sounds logical, Right?

But gradually I came to see Something. I was not growing in Wisdom. I was getting Exhausted.

We began to Praise Overthinking somewhere along the Road.

  • “I simply think a lot because I Care.”

  • “I feel deeply and thus I am an Overthinker.”

  • “This is simply who I am.”

We state these things almost with Pride. As if it is only another Personality Feature. At times, we even consider it Evidence of our Kindness or Intelligence.

That’s only Partially Accurate. Perhaps those who are really committed are more likely to delve deeply.

That does not, however, automatically mean Overthinking is harmful.

In the same vein, many people believe that every Introvert is inevitably an Overanalyzer.

Why is that?

Quieting yourself is not the same as being imprisoned in your ideas. Reflecting is different from Repeatedly running through the same idea a hundred times.

The actual issue resides here. Rarely does “Overthinking” solve as many problems as it Promises. Rather, it naturally generates new ones.

It took up hours that might have been used for Action. The Small uncertainties become great “Anxieties”.

  • It Postpones decisions already informed by enough Evidence.

  • It helps us to realise that thinking is just like advancing.

  • And maybe it is the toughest component as well.

  • It comes with responsibility.

  1. Your Brain Murmurs:

  2. “Two more Ideas.”

  3. “ One more Scenario.”

  4. “One more Google hunt.”

  5. “One more chat with AI.”

  6. “then I’ll finally feel sure.”

Still, Certainty never shows up. Only still another query.

The Weird thing about Overthinking is that from the Outside, it doesn’t seem Dramatic.

  • You are not Running.

  • You aren’t Shouting.

  • You are just seated there.

  • Thinking.

  • This is exactly why it’s so simple to normalise.

Nobody finds out that you Spent three days debating whether to Send an Email. Nobody notices the ten times you have replayed before turning in for the Night. And, Nobody knows you dreamed twenty different Futures before deciding on one minor course of action.

From outside, you seem to be Still. You are tired inside.

One day, then, I stopped Wondering.

“ Why do I overthink?”

Then began to wonder:

“How can I overanalyse?”

That one word turned all around. since not everyone questions in the same manner.

There are those who go back and relive events. Some get ready for never occurring disasters. Some measure themselves against everyone in their vicinity.

Others search for comfort all the time. Some people search for the ideal one, thus they cannot make decisions. And many of us mix Several Patterns.

  • Several Loops.

  • Many Triggers.

  • And, many Answers.

This is why I do not believe the response to be just.

“Stop Overthinking.”

No one would still be doing it if it were that Simple. The first step, then, is realising the pattern your mind keeps running across.

Once you can see the Loop. At last you have an opportunity to stop it.

This is Precisely the reason I developed this Assessment.

Not to label you as “an Overthinker.” But let me assist you in realizing how your Mind flips.

Inside is:

  • Your dominant over-analysing style

  • The secret cause behind it

  • The conviction your brain is working to defend.

  • Your most significant mental blind spot

  • Reflecting forces you to break the cycle.

As awareness cannot solve all. But all real change begins with awareness.

Here’s one question before you go.

When's the last time overthinking really helped you?

And, when did it last hold you back gently?

What you say may surprise you.

The problem isn’t your Overthinking.

The problem is we think of the same thing in different ways hoping a new idea will generate a new result.
