Hi everyone! Hope the summer is treating you okay thus far. The weather is pretending it's fall here this week, chilly rain and all.
It was an interesting and productive July over here in my studio. Some highlights:
I published my first ever art book, Street Cat Sketches ! It's tiny but cute.
Not actually connected, by I vended at my first ever Adult Book Fair. It was so much fun! Awesome crowds, cool vendors, must do again.
Discovered I love the brewery crowds for small events. You guys have amazing vibes!
Got over the intimidation factor on a couple of projects. You ever had those projects you stopped in the middle of because you weren't sure you could do them justice? Both of these were because of the struggle of capturing furry texture, and I love how they both ended up turning out.
Ordered a somewhat painfully large amount of inventory for upcoming large events: prints, stickers and merch oh my!
July is always a pretty slow time here as far as shows and sales, but I tried to make the most of it by keeping busy and prepping for...well, this month!
First of all, this month's freebie for members is a set of 3 mushroom bookmarks to color. I'm trying to get back to reading more - maybe some cool bookmarks will help!
Coming up on August 16th and 17th this year is Charlotte Pride! I'm in a full 10 x 10 booth this year in the main area, instead of the small single table space I've had the last couple of years. On top of that, it turns out my table is right near the main stage! I admit it - I'm nervous, I hope things sell, and I hope I have enough to sell!
Then we close out the month with, of course, Dragon Con! Wyrd Armouries will be back in our awesome spot we've had for the last couple of years, on the second floor of the America's Mart, on a corner on the main aisle. Hopefully we won't be hard to find!
So if you see me utterly exhausted in the beginning of September, now you know why!
