Got a Lot Done This Week

Got a Lot Done This Week

Apr 30, 2021

image Even though I didn't write a lot of words this week, I did spend quite a bit of time pouring over data and creating a workflow. Hopefully, this improves content going forward. And I'm mostly talking about the YouTube channel.

The video this morning is a culmination of a lot of that research. So, hopefully, it gets seen in the Suggested Video column of YouTube.

Still, this week has been progressing better than last, to an extent.

Learned Quite a Bit About YouTube

A lot of what I did this past week involved going over data on old and recent videos. And I found a distinct pattern as to why my channel doesn't grow fast or get a lot of attention.

Suggested Video.

My content is rarely suggested to viewers. From what I can gather, it's mostly because the topics I cover are just not that interesting to most people. I guess I need to think more like a creator on the platform instead of just winging it.

Working on CrossingColorado.com Next Week

Now that the WriterSanctuary.com blog is caught up, and I can keep it going in advance, I can start really working on CrossingColorado.com next week. This means I need to really start sticking to my writing schedule if I want to stabilize the other blogs in terms of content.

In fact, I might just start working on the site this weekend...depending on what I have going on with the kids.

At any rate, things are looking good, from a blogging perspective.

Practically Living Green Gaining Momentum!

Over the last few months, I've been putting some effort and money towards the blogging experiment for PracticallyLivingGreen.com. And after four months of constant content, it's starting to see some movement in Google.

In fact, the site has made just over $3 this month from AdSense. I know, that's not a lot of money. But when the site was bringing in about $0.01 per month, it's big news.

I'll be putting together a report on the six-month progress soon for both the WriterSanctuary blog and YouTube channel. I'll go over what we put into the site to get it to where it is today.

Week Two of the Friday Morning Live Streams

Today is week two for the Friday morning live streams. I almost forgot.

Last week, I only had 3 concurrent viewers. Hopefully, I'll have more than that today. But, I won't be terribly surprised if it's just another 20-minute live stream.

Essentially, I wanted to see if any of my UK subscribers would stop by. Plus, Monday nights are quite late for a lot of other people.

If it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. This was just an experiment to see if anyone would appreciate an earlier time frame in the day.

Episode 10 to Despair This Saturday

Tomorrow, I'm uploading Episode 10 of Despair. And although these videos get far fewer views than anything else I create, they are still a lot of fun to make.

Especially since I started using Epidemic Sound for effects.

At any rate, I've been waiting to write this episode for the past couple of months. It's one of my favorite scenes in my book. I've had Despair kind of planned out since 2018. I just wish I was a better voice actor.

Have a Great Weekend!

I think that's going to wrap it up for today. I learned a ton of valuable information this week and am looking forward to putting everything into practice. Hopefully, you'll enjoy the new videos as much as I enjoy making them.

Let's just hope they pop up in the Suggested Video feed.

Have a safe and awesome weekend. With how nice it is here in Colorado, I'm sure I will. :)
