Judgmental Kitty Chronicles: Chaperone Kitty

She leaned into the mirror, critically eyed her makeup, and grinned. She fussed at her hair and smoothed her shirt. The clock flashed the time, five minutes left. It wasn't the same as a real date. But since it wasn't practical to meet in person she had agreed to a virtual meeting. She ruffled the fur of the cat that sat on the counter beside her and walked out of the room.

She mused as she sat at her desk that it may be less stressful than a real blind date would have been. She opened the program, logged in, and waited. Her cat jumped in her lap as she sat there, a bored mew demanded her attention. She pet the cat but her attention was on the screen where a rather nervous looking young man waved back at her. The cat sat in her lap, tail flicking like a metronome, while the girl chatted on.

Her attention focused less and less on the ball of fluff on her lap until she suddenly picked her cat up and held him in front of the camera.  The cat glared at the lens and jumped to the desk. Green orbs of haughty cat indignity moved between the giggling figures. The animal gave a low growl and walked across the keyboard to hop onto the bed. A distinct glint of satisfaction showed in the cat's eyes as the girl tried to salvage her computer settings.
