Hello DD fans,
The V5 Compendium public beta is now available on Lulu!
What is V5 All About?
If you haven't been following the journey, V5 is by far the most thoroughly researched Delving Deeper. It brings the core elements of 1:1 scale Chainmail, First Fantasy Campaign, and the Three Little Brown Booklets together as a single, coherent game.
V5 includes many refinements over V4, but the headline changes to the game text are: 1) The referee’s booklet is reorganised around the referee's actual workflow, and includes wilderness and campaign details from FFC that are sorely missing from earlier editions, and 2) 1:1 scale combat is overhauled and given in more explicit detail.
What's Next?
This beta release enables me to get V5 "out there" at last, but the journey doesn't end here.
I'm still working on revisions to book 3 (the beta's book 3 is mostly a copy of v4), as well as the illustrated, annotated, developer, miser, and hard-cover editions. In the meanwhile, I'm hoping this beta release will enable fans to get some gaming experience with V5, and shake out any remaining quirks so the final release can be even stronger.
If you have questions or spot any issues with the V5 beta the best place to connect with the DD community is over at the DD Discord .
Thanks for your interest in DD, and enjoy the V5 beta !
