Grab them (for free!), read them, and play them (you can use OD&D's or DD V4's Monsters & Treasures pretty much interchangeably).
These are in public preview, so please do share any thoughts or comments either here or over on the DD Discord, especially regarding any spelling, grammar, layout, or typographical errors you might catch.
What Is V5 All About?
V5 is broadly the same game DD has always been—but this version has a decade more thinking and nuance put into it, and is ultimately better organised, and more faithful to the original sources than ever.
The headline goals are:
* Faithful to the original 1973-74 source materials (the 3LBBs, Chainmail, and First Fantasy Campaign bringing wonderful campaigning detail sorely missing from UWA).
* Better researched and fully annotated so the interested reader can follow the reasoning behind DD's interpretations and make their own calls.
* Highly available the "Miser" variant (clean text-only PDFs) will always be free, with POD hard copies at next to cost price.
That said, V5 will have an illustrated version, an annotated version, and a "book 4" of appendices; all currently in production, and ultimately the long-planned, hardback "all in" edition.
