I've decided to get the general adventuring hazards out of the way next, so today's instalment covers the much-loved topic of Flaming Oil.
Despite Chainmail featuring a detailed treatment of pouring flaming oil over battlements to (most effectively!) deter a would-be invader, the 3LBBs only mention burning oil as a deterrent to pursuers. Holmes elaborates on hurling oil as a missile weapon and igniting targets. For this reason, much of the following is likely to end up in an appendix. However, let's get it written down first, and decide what to do with it later...
