Hello to my esteemed cadre of coffee club followers and members!
Unbelievably, my kick-off post on this coffee club was very nearly a year ago (12th May, 2025).
A whole lot has happened since we collectively decided to crack the whip and get the fully annotated v5 done. Organising and filling out book 2 (DD's equivalent to UWA) was the major challenge outstanding. But now, with a full year of work into it, I think it is fair to say it's there. Well, there enough to push on.
An annotated book 2 is a huge milestone. It is far and away the most complex reorganisation and integration of 1970s content in the whole dd5 project. So, thank you to every supporter and member here for your patience, your interest in the DD5 mission, and for motivating me to get the annotated book 2 done.
So what's next?
Now it's all about assembling and organising the content I have into what will eventually become the v5 booklets and compendia. It is time to attend to the typesetting and layout. My valued supporters can expect to start seeing section/layout previews, and (of course!) my valued members will start to see the fully annotated, and perhaps illustrated, section previews as they drop.
Personally, I'm super keen for the next v5 hardback prototype. Sure, book 3 (Monsters and Treasures) will be mostly v4 content for now, but I want a sense of what build quality is achievable, and that extra kick I can only get by holding it in my hands :)
