With whispered words does the prayer leave my lips
Silent is the still world around me as I sit and listen
My heartbeat keeps me company on this darkened day
Though fast still is the breathing that I do, scared now
All around me the world moves at an ever-increasing rate
Leaving me in the dust to try and settle this ache in my soul
Though I would catch it and make it my own I falter
For the steps are wide and tall and I feel crushed inside
Upon my shoulders sits a heavy burden of doubt and fear
That what is in store for me will rival the storms of Hell
So I sit and I plead my case to myself, a battle of wills
And as of yet I know not what it is I shall do come tomorrow
