A proposito di Will Roper
I’m Will, a computational astrophysicist and Research Software Engineer at the University of Oxford.
A lot of my work focuses on building open-source software for astrophysics and scientific computing. I work on projects including SWIFT and Synthesizer. I also build smaller tools that make day-to-day scientific computing a bit easier, such as h5forest, a terminal-based explorer for HDF5 files.
I spend a lot of time on public engagement, finding ways to make astrophysics more interactive and accessible. That includes projects such as GravyLensing, which demonstrates gravitational lensing through both an iOS app and an interactive exhibit, and Universe Engine, an interactive way of exploring how changing the physics of the Universe changes what we see in simulations.
If you’ve found something I’ve built useful, enjoyed one of my projects, or just want to support the continued development of open-source science software and public engagement projects, you can buy me a coffee here. ☕
