About Wesley Bertipaglia
Software engineer making computer science fundamentals finally click.
👋 About Me
Hey there! I'm a software engineer from Brazil, and I write long-form explanations of how computers actually work.
My content started with a simple question: what really happens between pressing a key and seeing a character on screen? Answering it properly meant building a mental model of the whole machine one layer at a time: bits and representation, the processor, memory, storage, I/O, and the buses that connect them. That became the Computers series, and answering how the machine stays in control of many programs at once became the Operating Systems series. You can read all of it at wesleybertipaglia.com/series.
I'm building a fundamentals-first catalog of computer science: how machines represent information, how networks move packets, how data structures and algorithms shape performance, how software is architected, and how systems are designed to scale. The goal is a reader who doesn't just know what to type, but why it works: knowledge that holds up as tools and frameworks change.
Every post is written to be read start to finish, with real examples and no hand-waving, and every series is meant to be read in order, from the first post to the last. Fundamentals outlive every fashion in tech, and that's the whole point.
Your support gives me the time and tools to keep researching, writing, and maintaining this catalog: turning research and experience into clear, high-quality explanations that anyone can learn from. Thanks for being part of it. 💛
